We strive to promote and to support the health of all the members of our unique community. 

We’ve got everything everyone might need, from specialty Chinese, South-East Asian and South Asian ingredients to standard Canadian kitchen fare.

OUR STORY

We started out as a fruit stand with a dirt floor, warmed by a single wood stove. Boxes of produce stood outside our building along the highway, and people came in droves to stock up on stunningly fresh fruits and vegetables. 

 As we grew with the support of the community, Dave and Kit expanded their little store to include specialty diet ingredients emphasizing high quality, natural foods without exorbitant price tags. 

Dave sent out regular hand-typed newsletters, building awareness of and appreciation for organic and natural foods, while Kit started a commercial kitchen to show how to use exciting and unfamiliar ingredients. Kit and Dave’s kids were also constant fixtures in the grocery aisles and as they grew, so did the store! 

 Evergreen Natural Foods evolved into a community hub of nourishing products and expanding ideas. 

As we enter our fourth decade of business, Serena (daughter of Kit and Dave) and husband James are officially taking over Evergreen. 

To celebrate this transition and our continued growth, we are refreshing our name to Evergreen Market & Kitchen, reflective of our growth with the community.
